Located in Whatcom County 30 minutes south of the US/Canada Peace Arch border and 90 minutes north of Seattle, Bellingham consciously caters to and welcomes travellers on the way to, or from the ferries to Alaska and to British Columbia

In addition to being the terminal for the Alaska ferry, Bellingham is also "home base" for the popular Bellingham to Friday Harbor seasonal ferry service, and the May-September passenger-only ferry operating Bellingham to Victoria
